the Tree Species

  • Cultivar of Sugar Maple discovered in Vermont by William Flemer III of Princeton Nurseries
  • Probably a hybrid between the Northern and Southern (nigrum) Sugar Maples, exhibiting both good heat and drought tolerance
  • Considered to be the standard for comparison in Sugar Maples and the most widely planted selection
  • Perhaps the hardiest Sugar Maple and is the best choice for northern areas

  • Maple syrup used in cough syrups and is also said to be a liver tonic and kidney cleanser
